CenterHotel Thingholt – Reykjavík

Great location for bars, clubs of reykjavik. Also the shops and good restaurants of the centre are on the doorstep. Nice decor and decent breakfast. Would recommend.

This is one of the more luxurious hotels we have stayed in right down to the leather floors! Only, on a weekend the noise from the surrounding neighborhood pubs can make it feel like you're sleeping upstairs from a house party.

The staff and accommodations were wonderful and you'll be close to everything in the city. A bit noisy on the weekend based on the "downtown night life." Loved the room with free Internet and the lovely breakfast--which was included. A good place to stay!

For anyone looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable hotel I truly reccomend Centerhotel Thingholt. This is right in the middle of down town Reykjavik. It might be a bit noisy for some at the weekends but you will not notice this if you become part of the crowd. Whenever i return to Iceland I will be booking back in. Cant beat it!!

Hotel has modern decor and room is clean and comfortable. The only drawback is that the hotel has no signage and is hidden in the side street. Otherwise, a pleasant hotel of reasonable rate.

Cool boutique hotel. Breakfast should be served until later, and it's a shame that the hotel bar is not more lively as the decor is very nice. Overall a good choice.

We just from Iceland and stayed at the CenterHotel in Reyjevik for two nights. The Hotel "Supervisor" never greeted us and barely looked up from her desk. No personality at all. We asked questions with little or no response. The other hotel desk personel had little knowledge of the city. It was like they all had no idea where they were. The hotel was in a great location in the heart of the shoping area. We stayed just before the summer explosion. Our room was on the street side and was quiet,(maybe because it was during the week). Room was very small,(expected with European rooms).We would spend the extra $ and stay at other hotels.

Very chic and fresh hotel in the best possible location.

We were all busy before the trip so we didn't plan much. The hotel staffs are very friendly and informative. We ask them for dinner and sightseeing recommendations. We had a great time by just following them. They even made all the reservations for us. Even though Reykjavik is small, having a hotel right in the middle of everything made the experience even better.

Before we went I called to make sure the booking was confirmed. While talking I explained the trip was a surprise for my better half. I booked a Junior Suite but when we got there the hotel had bumped us up to a Loft Suite as a surprise for both of us. Really nice touch. The room was split level with the bedroom and bathroom on top, and the lounge with leather corner sofa in the lower part. It was cold when we went in but once we'd turned the radiators up it was toasty - which was handy as it was -2 outside during the day! That aside the beds were comfy, the shower was always hot with plenty of room to move. The lighting took a bit of working out but did the job fine. All in all a very good hotel, staffed by good friendly people - but everyone is friendly in Iceland!

The location was ideal. The rooms were elegant and stylish. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, it was a perfect stay! I highly recommend it.

Great design and location; not too expensive, even for Iceland

The hotel is located on a small side street just off the main street in town so it's extremely convenient for everything the city has on offer, and quiet during the night. The hotel is well decorated, maintained and serviced by a friendly/helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is off the main shopping district with all of the shops, bars, cafes and restaurants you could possibly wish for - yet the street it's on is quiet enough to sleep without disturbance. The decor of the hotel is beautiful, it was like arriving on another planet. Food and drink are great and very moderately priced. It's 2 minutes from the tourist information office which you need to visit to plan your trip so that you can visit all of the best attractions of Iceland. Staff here couldn't have been more courteous and friendly - we even got tipped about things to see and do that the tourist office hadn't told us. Will definitely be going back!

We were lured by the photos of the fixtures, etc. Unfortunately, we didn't get the room we requested and I'm not sure that we even got what we paid for. They did accommodate our early check in because we were getting married that afternoon, but we did not get a room with a big bathtub. We checked back the next day and still couldn't change rooms. The rooms lack attention to detail with their furnishings and amenities. It was small and very tough to maneuver around. The late night noise from the club next door was unpleasant. The one plus was the very nice included breakfast. After returning to the city from other parts, we stayed at another hotel for half the price and had a much more comfortable stay.

The hotel was located right off the main shopping street, close to everything. The rooms were very modern, clean, loved the decor. Staff was helpful in giving directions, arranging transportation for tour/airport pick-ups. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be right in the city, the location is perfect.

CenterHotel Thingholt is very well situated, a short walk to most sites, restaurants, and the center of town. The weather was unseasonably hot while we were there, so the rooms were stuffy (of course Iceland has no need for AC!), and since I'm a very light sleeper, it was a bit noisy to open the window. However, the hotel is located just on a little side street, removing it from the worst of Reykjavik's noisy nightlife (but we did not try out this theory on a Friday or Saturday night). The interior is ultra-contemporary in design, spiffed up with black and white leather, a fountain, cow hides, glass, acrylic and sealed cement - a little too black and white for my tastes, but I appreciated the effort. Our double room was not large, but it was well-laid out with a large white leather sofa, very comfortable beds, and the largest shower we had while in Iceland. Our friend's single room was smaller still. The desk staff members are pleasant. There is free wireless internet and a large lounge area next to the front desk. There is no parking for the hotel, but we had no trouble finding a spot on the street less than a block away. It is metered parking that activates at 10am. The breakfast buffet, which has fruit, veggies, boiled eggs, toast, pastry, meats, fish, cheese, yoghurt and cereal, was better than most others we saw in two weeks of travelling Iceland. Given the great rate that we found, I'd stay there again while in Reykjavik.

We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay a little longer. Our room was a little cramped but the other room used by our travelling companions was generously proportioned and had a lovely big leather sofa in it. Cool reception area mostly deserted. Reception staff helpful and breakfast adequate (range of cold meats/ cereals/ breads/juices coffee etc and included with the room price so that's a bonus in this expensive city)

Three words, location, location, location. Right off the main street with all of Reykjavik's buzzing nightlife a two minute walk away. A tad noisy, but nothing unmanageable. Tastefully deocrated, friendly staff (evenings anyway). Only downside- bizarre bathrooms, with glass walls, frosted only partially. They don't afford you much privacy and not much soundproofing of the loos either. Would go back, if only for the location though.

We arrived at 7:30AM and the hotel was great to let us check in at 8AM after traveling from the US. On the downside, the telephone in our room didn't work, the hotel owner and housekeeper walked into our room with their master key without knocking (2 separate times), and the front desk staff were generally not that friendly or overly helpful.

Sentralt, smakfull og flott design, hyggelig betjening. Et sted å slappe av. Virkelig et hjem på reisen.

Hotellet fremtræder i en ny, frisk og lækker loungestil, når man er kommet indendørs. Udefra ser det ikke ud af meget. Ligger lige ved siden af shoppinggaden og med masser af restaurenter i nærheden. Et godt hotel men små værelser.

Servicenivån på detta hotell är obefintlig. Personalen verkar oftast besvärad om man frågar om någonting. Frukostbuffén är ok, men inte mer. Badrummet har en mindre fuktskada. Rekomenderas endast om det inte finns bättre alternativ för samma pengar.

Das Hotel liegt perfekt in einer Seitenstrasse der Haupteinkaufs und Ausgehmeile von Reykjavik Sehr modern mit viel Schwarz Beton weiß eingerichtet daher eher kühl aber chic Von außen ist das Hotel nicht besonders aber die Zimmer sind in Ordnung von grösse und mit gut ausgestattetem Bad mit Wasserfalldusche von Grohe Frühstück in ordnung eher kontinentales da keine warmen Speisen angeboten werden Der Frühstücksraum hat keine Fenster Personal freundlich Hotel ist Etwas lauter da manche Zimmer zur Strasse rausgehen und bei Midsommernacht natürlich viel los ist hat mich aber nicht so gestört

Moderne designhotell, men mørkt og bedre for yngre mennesker med godt syn! Ellers dårlig oppfølging når man klaget. TV fungerte ikke, sa fra fire ganger, ingenting skjedde. Kjøleskapet var varmt, fikk beskjed om at det var vanlig at slike minibarer var for varme.

Vi ankom sent og trætte. Det var vidunderligt at se toptunet moderne arkitektur ledsaget af poetisk tekst frostet ind i hoveddørens glas "this is the journeys end ......" . Værelset var luxuriøst indrettet med læderfliser på gulvet og lækkert bad i flot beton med vandfalds vandhaner. Alt fungerede og det var comfortabelt og smukt. Hotellets Restaurant DOMO gav os den bedste madoplevelse på Island (og vi prøvede en del top restauranter i byen, og valgte virkelig luxus). Morgenmadsbuffet udemærket. Kaffen ikke så god, men det var Nescaféen til gengæld på værelset.

Meget sentral beliggenhet (30 meter fra hovedgata), rent, nytt og trendy. Bodde i fjerde etasje med vindu vendt mot bakgård - ingen merkbar støy om natta. Hyggelig og behjelpelig betjening. Enkel, men god og tilfredsstillende frokost inkludert i prisen. Reiser gjerne tilbake!

Flott hotell med fine rom, noe enkelt frokost. Nabo-bygg med discotek med lang åpningstid var et problem for de som ønsket å sove framfor å gå på byen til de små timer.

Mooi, trendy hotel in het centrum. Enige nadeel is dat het geen parkeerterrein heeft. Kamers en het ontbijt zijn prima, in prettige ruimte. Goede bedden.

Det er et superflot hotel, som er meget moderne i sit design. Absolut en oplevelse værd.
