cleanliness room, comfortable room, adequate requirement inside room, breakfast good enough. especially friendly & helpful staff, can help to solve problem with the stranger in Iceland., only not good enough is the location, nee to walk around 5-10mins to the shopping centre.

The hotel is nice and comfortable inside, with a good breakfast and very clean. Only negative is the location which, while perfectly safe, is in what seems to be a rather shabby commercial/industrial area 15 mins walk from the city centre.

Good hotel with excellent staff (helpful, pleasant & good humoured). The restaurant offers good food at reasonable prices (by Icelandic rates). It is a good walk to the real city centre (about 20+ mins). I was expecting worse of the room from other comments, but it was fine. No nice view, just the roof of an adjacent building. TV with some English channels (BBC 1 & 2, ITV2). No bath just a shower (wait for the hot water - it comes from a geothermal plant). Our "twin" room was 2 mattresses sharing the one base. It was very quiet and there was no noise from the neighbourhood or other guests. Breakfast buffet included cereals, salads, tea/coffee and toast/bread. At the end of the day Iceland's beauty is appreciated from getting out, not from staying in your room. This hotel was good value in an expensive city and we would be happy to return.

Fairly basic accommodation, but staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly

My husband and I booked this hotel taking into consideration that we didnt want to pay the earth but at the same time we wanted a hotel that was clean tidy well located and safe. The Bjork did not disappoint in any of these areas. From the outside the Bjork does not look all that much however once inside the lobby you will find it to be everything you need of a Hotel. The rooms are clean modern and tidy. There is no noise at night. The hotel staff are knowledgable, helpful and efficient. The hotel is only a maximum 10 walk from the start of the main shopping street. All tour buses pick you up and drop you off outside the hotel. The Hotel is totally fine for a few days break and longer if you require it.

We stayed here in October 2008, it's not too difficult to find when driving from the airport (even easier with GPS!) The hotel itself is clean and tidy, my wife and I were very happy with it, our room had views out to the harbour and mountains beyond which was nice. It's a little way out from the town centre. I'd say it would be about a 20-25 minute walk into the old town so worth bearing in mind when it is very cold or if you don't have a car. In terms of the immediate surrounding area, I didn't see too many restaurants around and it is about a 5 minute walk to the sea front. We found it to be in a good spot for getting out of Reykjavik by car as it's close to the bigger roads (however Reykjaviok isn't that big so I imagine most places are quite well positioned!) Overall, we had a good stay here though and would recommend both the hotel and Iceland.

Good size room, good view from our room and decent breakfast included were the good points. The down side was the 20 min walk to the centre of town, thin walls so was noisy at times and only a shower in the bathroom. The website we booked on said that the hotel has parking but it does not, there is limited on street parking available.Overall not too bad if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel.

The hotel provided a very good level of service. It is functional, pretty good location plus has the luxury of being a pick up point for airport buses, trips, etc. The staff were friendly...even when we arrived at 2 am after a very late night flight from Berlin. I'd definately stay there again...hopefully soon!

The hotel's rather plain exterior belies the clean and spruce interior. The staff are all extremely fluent in English, more accurately at least bilingual. The rooms are clean and well fitted out, with English Language TV available; tea and coffee are provided in room. Continental breakfast (ceeral, yoghurt, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit and tea, coffee, juice are provided. A separate company provides good quality dinners in the same restaurant. Wireless access is available, though at a charge. The hote staff are extremely helpful; giving us early access to a room when we were exhausted after our flight, and advising on our best routes/methods to airport; happily booking taxis and chatting about how best to get to places. The service was outstanding and is the reason I'd unhesitatingly recommend this hotel.

Small hotel about a 25/30 minute walk from the City Center. Room was spotless, staff was very helpful and breakfast was quite good as European breakfasts go. Has on street parking which was a problem only one time. Late in the day and evening parking is OK. Has free Internet computer in its small lobby. If you have a car its a good location since you can avoid the City Center traffic when going on trips.

Nice hotel with free parking. Reasonably close to the city center, about 15-20 minutes walk. Breakfast wasn't the best, just bread, ham, cheese, youghart, cereal, boiled egg, fruits. No hot food, that's abit disappointed. Apart from that it;s a good hotel, very clean, comfy bed.

The Hotel Bjork offers comfortable accomodations at a reasonable price. The room was clean, the staff was efficient and the breakfast was subtantial. The location is not central and requires a bit of a walk, but it is well worth the $ savings. My only suggestion for improvement is adding clocks to the rooms.

A great little hotel! Although not much to look at from the outside, the interior is very clean and modern. The rooms are reasonably sized and the beds extremely comfortable. Views from the room were a tad industrial, but despite this, the area is nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and as with all of the locals that we met, all spoke English extremely well. The hotel restaurant was expensive for an evening meal (even by Icelandic standards), but the food was excellent. The buffet breakfast was equally as nice - plenty to choose from. Although the hotel has no dedicated parking, we didn't struggle to get an on-street parking space outside of the hotel (shared with local businesses, so tends to stay busy throughout the day). The main shopping street is about 10 mins from the hotel; there's a good take away and a 24hr garage within 5 mins walk and a small supermarket just around the corner.

3-stars is 3-stars... Quite basic in all aspects. Location is not great for going into town, but very good for drop-off after daily tours (among the first to arrive). Breakfast poor - no hot food.

Just come back from a 4-day stay in this hotel when we had an excellent stay. Right from the start the receptionists and staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean, a good size and toasty warm. The food was good and there was plenty of it. The stay was excellent value - far,far better than the hotel in London we stayed in after our return which cost nearly as much for one night as the Bjork did for the 4 days and was more like an army camp! Our only slight criticism of the Bjork was that it was a bit further away from the centre of the town than the 7 minute walk suggested. I would tell everybody going to Reykjavik to stay there.

Room not clean at check-in, but otherwise nice place and friendly staff. Short walk to centre yet nice and queit location. Huge breakfasts!

I would recomend Hotel Bjork Iceland. All your trips can be booked from here and they also pick up up at no extra cost. The Airport transfer can also be arranged from the Hotel reception.

Easy to find, easy to park, easy to reach down town walking, simple but functional rooms with good bed comfort, basic but good breakfast and restaurant convenient in hotel with nice food to reasonable prices. Free internet connection in each room and public pc in reception makes the hotel complete for it's 3 stars. The quiet area is a bit boring but excellent for the sleep, we value the good sleep highly.

Enkelt og greit hotell i gåavstand til Reykjavik sentrum. Busstopp rett ved. Hotellet og hotellrommet er kjedelig, men rent. Perfekt hvis du likevel har tenkt å tilbringe mesteparten av tiden med å utforske Island, ikke hotellrommet.

Välfungerande hotel med helt OK standard. Utgående mejl kan inte skickas i Outlook. Imponerande när jag anlände 04:10 på morgonen (pga flygförsening) var att jag erbjöds den redan framsatta frukosten som nattamat!

Greitt beliggende. Fin utsikt mot sjøen (fra 2. etasje). Begrenset trafikkstøy. Bratt trilleadkomst - ikke egnet for rullestol.

enkelt hotell som ligger bra i Reykjavik och nära till det mesta. Väldigt enkelt badrum, enkel restaurang och enkel frukost utan några märkvärdigheter. Tyst och lugnt område.

Totally ok hotel. Helps you with car rentals, early breakfast when leaving etc. Long breakfast our a great plus. A bit to far from the main shopping/party streets but still very central. Always a clerk at the desk!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a good nights sleep, as the banging noise from doors slamming is so loud it is impossible to ignore. If a door in a nearby room closes this can often actually be felt physically.

Dette hotellet kan vi godt tenke oss å komme tilbake til. Rent og ordentlig, god service, spesielt i resepsjonen. Frokosten var variert, inneholdt noe for enhver smak. Vi spiste middag to ganger på Potturinn og Pannan. Velsmakende, god service. Alt i alt et godt alternativ i sin prisklasse.
