Metropolitan Hotel – Reykjavík

This hotel is clean and comfortable in a way some student halls can be This is defiantly a budget hotel but so long as you pay a budget price you will not be disappointed as the location is just off the harbor and main shopping streets Breakfast was basic but fine The TV had three channels with some English programs so was fine the room we had was one of their smallest but OK shower is a wet room style but water is hot and all you really need a little mildew was present The hotel is in a very quite street however the walls are thin and you do hear people showering and breakfast being set up doors banging the lift etc so you might take ear plugs If you are higher up it might be better Overall it was OK but nothing lovely or amazing but kinda what we expected for the price it being such an expensive country

Metropolitan hotel has very helpful and friendly staff who all speak English. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. There are no tea/coffee making facilities but besides that and the space, there is no real difference to any other hotel. It is in an ideal location, literally around the corner from the centre and therfore extremely good value.

Rooms in main building may be OK, but rooms in annex (2 doors away) were very poor. It appeared that an apartment was recently just chpped in to 3 or 4 rooms. Not comfortable at all. Also, we did not get the room we paid for in advance.

The hotel itself is in fair condition, except for the quality of my room. I didn't mind the size, or the fact that someone's fridge was leaking, causing a visit from the local fire department, but I did mind that my bed obviously sank in the middle. Also, there were food crumbs under the bed when I arrived. Needless to say, the hotel staff/receptionists were exceptional, the morning breakfast was more than reasonable, and the rate/location was great. I just wish it had been a better room with better cleaning service. Overall, this is worth the stay.

Hotellet ligger centralt med gångavstånd till centrum. Frukosten bra. Städningen usel. Klart är att man inte använde dammsugare alls under vår vistelse. En dag bäddades inte ens sängarna. Inga nya handukar eller lakan under 4 nätters vistelse. Hotellet tog emot bestälning på en resa som inte gick den aktuella dagen. Detta blev hotellet och vi varse först när vi inte blev uphämtade på avtalad tid. Mvh

Hotellet lå sentralt i Reykjavik, gangavstand til det meste i sentrum. Men litt trukket tilbake, så lå i et rolig område. Frokosten var meget enkel. Betjening var hyggelig. Rommene var noe slitt, fikk ikke minibaren til å fungere. Var ikke varme på badegulvet, men i oppholdsrom(en rar islandsk byggeskikk?). Vannet lukta svovel, men det gjorde det overalt ellers og. Et greit alternativ for de som ikke skal være mye på hotellet.

The hotel is located in the heart of Reykjavik, walking distance to museums, attractions, restaurants and nightlife. Service and rooms are not above average, breakfast is ok, and you have to pay a small fee for internet access, which moreover only works in the breakfast room. If you plan on spending lots of time in the hotel, go somewhere else; if you on the other hand want a place to sleep which is cosy and close enough to everything so you do not need to take cabs and buses all the time (which is a huge drawback of other more modern hotels in Reykjavik), hotel Metropolitan is the perfect choice.

Et lite rom i kjelleren med radiator som ikke kunne stenges gav alt for varmt rom. Vindu med lite mulighet for lufting hjalp ikke situasjonon. Ok frokost Sentral beliggenhet Totalt sett ok-, og ville valgt annet hotell ved neste tur til fantastisk Island

Vi fikk et rom i kjelleren med daarlig luft. Lite tilfredsstillende frokost med tomme fat.

Dårlig service dro ned gjennomsnittskarakteren for dette hotellet. Rommene var små og vi hadde oversvømmelse på badet, men i sin prisklasse var det egentlig helt ok. Rent og fint.

Läget var toppen, men städningen var usel. På en vecka bäddade, städade eller torkade de inte en enda gång. Papperskorgarna tömdes 3 eller 4 gånger, det var allt. 3-stjärningt eller vandrarhem? För en kortare tid ändå helt ok tack vare läget.

It was nearly impossible to communicate with the staff in English. Quite small room and the shower was horrible since the temperature changed all the time. Water smells funny. Overall it was an ok stay and a very affordable hotel considering the very low price and that breakfast is included.

Billigt hotel med god beliggenhed. Men når det er sagt, så er hotellet slidt og umoderne. Vores badeværelse var ret klamt.

The room had dust-rats behind the desk when I went to find a power outlet. The shower had black mould under under the roof. I overheard another guest complaining that he was unable to use the shower because of the smell and was told to use a shower in the basement instead. The rooms have a cooling fridge most were not functioning so they were locked. During the stay, my fiance started to suffer from stomach disorder that lasted 3-4 days. This happened also to another guest we spoke to, and they had both eaten ham at breakfast, so it is possible but not confirmed that bad food handling was the cause. Internet is available, but only in the lobby, not in the rooms. There is also a (reasonable) fee of 1000 ISK per the whole stay. The personel was friendly and handled tour and car bookings. They have 24h service, also very nice. The hotel is very close to the city centre (2 minutes walking distance), which was a positive experience.

Hotellet har perfekt läge i förhållande till centrum. Dock allmänt ruffigt men rent. Ha inga stora förhoppningar på frukosten.

Små rum och liten frukost. Läget dock perfekt i centrum.

Personalet var serviceminded og smilende. Alt var klar og forberedt ved ankomst.
