Tiny rooms

The price was fairly good, but the room we had was very small and the bathroom was very moist. If we closed the window in the bathroom the room smelt very bad, so we had to keep it up all time which was very cold!

Perfect Location, amazing staff and a wonderful experience are all good ways to describe Klopp. The staff were some of the friendliest hotel staff ever. Our room was very comfortable. If you have issues with noise, downtown Reykjavik might not be the best idea for your stay becuase it is very active and loud, but if you are a partier, this is the place to be.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during my recent trip to Iceland. The service was outstanding. The front desk helped us book dinner reservations, track down our lost luggage, and call taxis. The rooms were small (as to be expected in the middle of a city) but the beds were very comfortable and each room contained a small refrigerator. The hotel was one block away from the downtown bar/shopping district (amazing location). Also, each room contains blackout curtains which are very nice to have in the 24 hours of daylight the spring brings. The only snag we ran into is there is no parking at the hotel, you are limited to street parking. Although, with that being said we had no problems parking at meters, and they only ran from 10-4 each day so feeding them was never a problem. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in the middle of town and don't mind some street noise at night on the weekends.

The hotel has excellent location. It's good reflection of its rating. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had small room for single occupancy and was pleasently surpriced I had double bed instead twin beads stated on reservation. It may have benefited of a drawer or few more hangars on the cupboard, but still I have enough storage to unpac my suitcase. I stayed at the hotel 6 nights and only one night the music of the bar/ club opposite the hotel got quite loud. The surrounding traffic noise did not bother at all. The hotel was great base location for my holiday in Iceland. I stayed few days just in town and then took few day trips outside Reykjavik. The shuttle bus service provided by different tour operators was excellent as they allways picked up you from the hotel. Based on my stay, I'm happy to recommend the hotel for anyone.

Great friendly staff, comforable room, cozy welcoming lobby, impressive breakfast, perfect location... everything was great about this hotel. No complaints whatsoever - I will surely be returning to this hotel on my future visits because this sort has become my home in Reykjavik!

A great hotel. It is a hotel not a resort. The staff was very friendly, courteous, very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, and was very quiet. I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent and friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable and cozy lobby, tidy room, great location... it was perfect, I could not have asked for more! I will definitely go back to this hotel, and personally, I think I will ask for the 4th floor as it is far up enough from the street, but it will stay warmer in the winter as there is another floor above to shut the flow of the warm air...

we spent new years eve in this hotel, which as you know in Reykjavic can noisy. The hotel was within walking distance of every important site in the old town, but was set back from the bars enough that it was quiet. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Hotel Klopp was a great location in the middle of the city, just one block off the main shopping street. We were on the 5th floor and could see the harbor and mountains from our window. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. after a red-eye flight and they had the room ready for us only one hour later. The room was small but very comfy. Hardwood floors, comfortable bed, tiled (but tiny) shower, free internet connection, a fridge and a clothing armoire. The radiator allowed for temperature control for our individual room. Overall the room was nothing fancy or frilly, but a solid accomodation that served us well, as we were out and about most of the time. Breakfast was included and was fairly standard - some fruits, cereal, breads, meats, toast, pastry and juices/coffee/tea. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever we asked a question or for a recommendation. There was a lounge area with cushy chairs where we waited for tour pick-ups in the morning. They also had a free internet kiosk in the hotel. Overall, the hotel was an incredible value, good location, and we would certainly recommend.

This hotel is located one street over from the main shopping street in Reykjavik. You can walk to all the sites in a matter of minutes. You also get a basic, but still nice breakfast included with your room, which is uncommon in Europe. The front desk people were very helpful when it came to booking excursions or with general questions about the city. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Clean, quite, conveniently located.

My friend and I stayed at Klopp for 4 nights in early Nov. Beware if they give you a street level room as on Sat night (main party night in town) we were awaken by a drunk banging on our window for a persistent 1/2 - 3/4 of an hrs. around 5am (bars/clubs close at 6am). We could easily hear the band playing in the bar across the st. Otherwise the location of the hotel good was OK as it's very near the main street of shopping, restaurants and bars (overrated, not really different from any other city's main shopping st.). The room was OK. As someone said we were there to sight see, not hangout in the room. None the less based on the TV reception (horrible) I would have guessed that it wasn't cable, but do to the fact that there were a few repeated, of very few, channels I know it was cable. Lighting in the room was on the dark side. Otherwise the room was good. Clean w/ comfortable beds (2 singles pushed together) and the decent bathroom. The breakfast was decent, fruits, bread, cereal, yogurt, coffee, hot chocolate, orange and apple juice among a couple other items. Folks at the front desk seemed a little reserved (maybe the fact that their economy just went bankrupt had something to do with it) but helpful. Overall it was a good place to stay, just don't get a ground floor room and don't expect much from the room.

We stayed at Hotel Klopp for 5 nights. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all the restaurants and bars. The price is extremely reasonable. The rooms are a little small, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is enjoyable and a good way to start a day in Reykjavik. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

This was a lovely small hotel. Service excellent. Lots of advise with trips/enquiries. Access to Internet. Buffet breakfast very generous and varied. The hotel is ideally situated for town centre, just a few steps to the shops, galleries, monuments.

We were only at the hotel for one night. The location was excellent, but a little noisy due to being in an area of restaurants, etc. That did not disturb me, but it did disturb my sister a bit. The hotel could use some renovation and improvement (the door to our room was very difficult to open and close), but all in all it was fine for a short stay and for the price paid.

I only need a bed and a shower - I'm on a trip to see the sights and not hotels. That being said, the Hotel Klöpp is for me - neat, clean, stripped down. The staff was friendly and helpful with booking any excursions. Breakfast was included with a variety of breads, cereals and sandwich items. Free internet usage for guests in the lobby. Although there was only one machine, I never had to wait for my turn. The location is close to several restaurants and only 3 to 4 blocks from the Reykjavík harbor - very close to the Sólfar sculpture. A block in the opposite direction is Laugavegur - the main shopping street in Reykjavík. In case you're looking to get to other parts of Reykjavík, the busses stop right in front of the hotel. The BSI bus terminal is close enough for a short cab ride. Much of the shopping and restaurants of downtown Reykjavík are a short walk away.

Hotel was in a good location and a great spot

Hotellet låg precis bredvid huvudgatan i Reykjavik. Restauranger, butiker, barer och nattklubbar inom ett stenkast. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal i receptionen. Rent och fräscht rum MEN lite trångt och tyvärr på första våningen ut mot gatan. Blir rätt så stökigt på natten när man bor så nära nattklubbarna. Men det var inget stort problem.

Perfekt beliggenhed og meget servicemindet personale. Continental breakfast er dog, som altid, uinspirerende.

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt ved handlegata og nær ypperlige restauranter. Passe lite hotell med god service, stille og rolig.

Hotellet har enkel standard. Det luktet litt rart i heisen og på badet vårt, og det hadde vært fint med et par påleggssorter til på frokosten, men betjeningen var hyggelig og hjelpsom, og det var rent og greit. Vi ble sjenert av høy musikk fra etablissementet tvers over gata når vi hadde lagt oss om kvelden, men de ga seg heldigvis ganske tidlig, så for oss med store unger var det ikke noe stort problem. Hotellet ligger ypperlig plassert midt i byen, og vi ble hentet med en liten buss til alle utflukter o.l. vi ville være med på utenfor byen. Jeg kan trygt anbefale hotellet for den som i første rekke er ute etter et greit og sentralt sted å sove og spise frokost.

Perfect sentral location, ten meters to the shopping street and restaurants. The hotel conditions were great, considering it`s a three-star hotel. Unfortunatly, the hotel staff was absolutely not servise minded.It felt like we were bothering them each time we wanted to ask a question.

Centralt läge - nära till shoppinggatan. Hjälpsam personal. Bra service - frukost kl 4 på morgonen hemresedagen. Pick- up servicen till utflykterna fungerade utmärkt.

Perfekt beliggenhed (lige bag hovedgaden), hav- og bjergudsigt, lækker indretning og meget hjælpsomt personale. Jeg vender helt sikkert tilbage.

Jag behövde bara någonstans att bo och hotellet uppfyllde mina behov. Det ligger centralt, vilket är en fördel. Hjälpsam och tjänstvillig personal.

Hotellet hadde ansatte som var mer enn villig til å hjelpe, og var lett å kommunisere med. De hjelper også til med å bestille utflukter, bussturer eller hva det måtte være. Rommene var rene og pene, og hotellet ligger midt i sentrum! Har virkelig ingenting å klage på. Flott!

Geweldige centrale ligging van het hotel. Kan 's avonds wel rumoerig zijn, omdat IJslanders in deze straat graag hun auto's showen. En bij voorkeur maken de auto's veel herrie. Kamer zag er prima uit en ook over het ontbijt niets te klagen.

Allereerst moet ik zeggen dat dit een prima hotel is. Kleine schone kamers met prima doucheruimte en prima ontbijt. Tot zo ver van harte aan te bevelen, goede prijs/prestatie voor ijslandse begrippen. Dan de negatieve punten: De gordijnen zijn erg matig en bieden veel te weinig bescherming tegen de 24 uur zonlicht die wij in juni meemaakten. Slordig en jammer, neem oogkapje mee! Het 2e minpunt is nog vervelender. Aan de overkant van de straat ligt een vage nachtclub/bar die op vrijdag en zaterdag probeert klanten te lokken door keiharde muziek te draaien met ramen en deuren open. Dit is een typisch IJslandse gewoonte maar in dit geval doe je zonder oordoppen vrijwel geen oogdicht. Voor slechte slapers is dit hotel dus helaas GEEN aanrader.
